About Dusk of Innocence

Dusk of Innocence is an ongoing serial novel. It is written by Danielle Reynolds, an amateur novelist. The novel itself is an experiment, an attempt to bring transparency to the novel writing process. As Danielle finishes a chapter, she publishes it online. However, there is always the caveat that she may go back an edit chapters as she sees fit (though she has promised that for smaller changes, she will wait until a book is finished and the go back edit all the chapters at once).

The novel tells the story of three unlikely companions who find themselves thrust into a mission to save the world. Cliche, isn't it? It's hard to sum up the plot of DoI , but the best summary is that it is an exciting, character driven story set in the fantasy world of Crolis. It follows the adventures of three heroes--Sir Markas Tau, Emily Rosewood, and the mysterious Ian.

The story itself is based on a series of role-playing sessions with Danielle's friend that went from 2003-2007. The three main characters are based on characters played by Danielle and her friends. So, there is in fact a real Ian, a real Markas, and a real Emily. Danielle changed many details and created a more cohesive plot than the game sessions, but much of the credit for the ideas here goes to Danielle's friends.
